Selections from our Cape May Point Concert with the Falls Church City Concert Band of Falls Church, 20 June 2009

About 20 members of the Falls Church VA Concert Band joined the John Walter Cape Community Band for a concert at the Pavilion Circle at Cape May Point, NJ at 6 p.m.  None of us were even sure that the concert would even come off as scheduled.  It had rained strongly from early morning until about 3 p.m., when the sun broke through and brightened everyone's spirits, and we actually began to think that we were going to get away with it.

The music that follows was recorded at the concert.  It is sprinkled liberally with wind on the mike and thunder in the background.  We played until the concert was suddenly and abruptly brought to a close by a downpour.  We were in the middle of the Benny Goodman piece - our apologies to the King of Swing.  We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we enjoyed playing the Joint Concert, and we thank the members of the Virginia band that joined us for the event.

El Capitan March The Birth of Rock and Roll

John Walter composed a march, the Middle Township Bicentennial March, in honor of the Middle Township Bicentennial.
