Community Outreach: Food Bank Support Program

At the John Walter Cape Community Band, we believe in the power of music to bring people together—and that includes supporting our community beyond the stage. Through our Food Bank Support Program, we encourage our audiences to bring non-perishable food items to selected performances throughout the year, helping to combat food insecurity in Cape May County.

Food insecurity affects approximately 12% of households in our area, impacting nearly 12,000 individuals who struggle to access nutritious meals. By partnering with local food banks and shelters, we’re committed to making a difference for our neighbors in need.

The Middle Township Performing Arts Center, St. John Neumann Church in North Cape May, and the Ocean City Library are designated as food collection sites. The dates for concerts at these venues can be found on our Events page. Your donations go directly to local food banks and shelters, helping to feed families and individuals in our community. Together, through the joy of music and the spirit of giving, we can help our neighbors and make a lasting impact.
